PRUNE SOUFFLE
Shape Shoulders.--Cast off 6 sts.1⁄2-pint stoned, stewed primes, 2 at beg of next 10 rows. Cast off tablespoonfuls castor sugar, 1 team remaining sts.
FRONT Cast on 56 sts. with No. 12 pins. Knit into, back of 1st row. Rib 3 rows, K.1P1 Continue as follows: 1st row: Knit, 2nd row: (K2P2) 5 times, K-2.P.12, (K.2.P.2), 5 times, K2
Epeat rows 1 and 2 three times
spoonful vanilla essence, 11⁄2 gills prune juice, 2 egg whites, 1⁄2 cup sponge cake crumbs, 2 tablespoon- fulls minced walnuts.
Cook the prunes to a pulp or till soft enough to put through a sieve. Mix pulp and juice into crumbs. Stir in sugar and vanilla essence. Mix well, then add walnuts.
Whip egg whites till stiff, then fold into mixture, Pour into a but- tered piedish. Place in a baking tin Work till 4in from start. Change containing a little hot water. Bake to No. 8 pins. Work till 121⁄2in from in a moderate oven till firm, in start.

A USE FOR WORN NET CURTAINS
The "good" portions of curtains which are no longer fit to be hung could be cut into rounds, hemmed neatly, and used for making glass. cap, jug and bowl covers.
A crochet edge by working a round of doubles into the hem would strengthen the cover. Then groups of three chain (on which the heavy coloured bead could be threaded) and one treble into the double of previous row would suf- fice for the second round.
The thickest crochet cotton or silko must be employed, or a thinner thread used in doubled form. For nursery jugs and tumblers an amusing animal could the darned into the centre of this
