FEMALE FAKIR IN STAGE TRAGI-COMEDY: TOO REALISTIC STAGE TEST

HE well-known female fakir, Koringa, daughter of an Indian mother and an Algerian father, was involved in an exciting incident which occurred while she was performing her turn on the stage of a big vaudeville theatre in Basle, Switzer- land, yesterday.

After she had performed the first part of her turn, which consists in hypnotising a number of snakes, an eagle and a crocodile, she proceeded to display the invulnerability of her body by stabbing three sharp dag- gers into her arms and neck, sponding to this with an exotic smile of enchantment.
