PARALLEL to the announcement of impending Paid-up Anglo-American negotiations for trade Reserve agreement, the State Department announces the intention of opening new negotiations with Canada.

It is understood that the United States does not plan

at present for negotiations with other Domin ions, but it is declared that such steps are pos- sible in the not so distant future."

Should negotiations for 20 Anglo-American trade pact be initiated, Britain will be the twenty-first nation with which the United States has announced her intention of negotiating a re- ciprocal agreement

Sixteen such agreements have al- ready been concluded, including one with Canada.

MUTUAL CONCESSION

The New York "Times" states. that the agreement, when conclud- ed, will grant reductions in the tariff on British manufacturedTM goods entering the United States. with Britain making concessions on American agricultural products.
