The question of financial aid to China when the present conflict with Japan is terminated, was raised in the House of Commons yesterday by Mr. Louis Smith.

Mr. Smith asked whether in view of the cer- tainty that at the end of hostilities, China would need financial assistance to enable her to recuper ate, British influence would be used if China would so desire, to ensure that such assistance be inter- national in character and not to the advantage of any particular nation.
