C.B.A. LACKING IN PRACTICE SOFTBALL enthusiasts, over the week-end saw three interesting matches played in which the English Forum became the undisputed leaders of the League through their defeat of the Machine Gunners by 2-runs to nil.

The Vets, now in second place, took the Canadian Chinese to town in a ding-dong battle that lasted through ten innings. In the ninth inning the score was tied at 4-4, but in a rousing extra stanza, the Vets accumulated three runs to take the game from the Canadian Chinese. There was only home run scored in this game, by Bill Woo, the star of the Canadian Chinese.

Matty Chang, pitching in big shade. Rooters for the Canadian league form, struck out 16 men Chinese were there in full force. and only allowed one base on and the team graced the field in balls and four scattered hits. One double play was made, how ever, in which a Filipino base-run- ner, running before a fly was caught, was put out flat-footed at first, Ganbert, at first base, making two pat-outs with an assist by King at second.

UNITED HOCKEY TOURNAMENT RULE CHANGE

Meeting Held Yesterday

The monthly meeting of the United Hockey Tournament was held at the Police Training School yesterday. Those present were Lt. R. D. Maclagan (chairman) Mr. S. Mettam (secretary) and represen- tatives of the Royal Engineers, Royal Air Force, KITC Ordnance, Police, Seaforths and CRA

On the recommendation of the Hong Kong Hockey Association, the word "discreditable" was alter- ed to unsatisfactory" in the rule: A game is to be replayed when the conduct of players or umpire is considered "discreditable
