GOOD FIRST DIV. PROGRAMME
FOUR IMPORTANT MATCHES DOWN FOR DECISION
KOWLOON'S BIG TASK
AGAINST THE SAINTS

GOOD JUNIOR FOOTBALL
FOUR important First Division League football matches are, down for decision this afternoon and all have a bearing on the destination of the senior championship. At Chatham Road, Kowloon, who caused one of PROGRAMME the biggest sensations of the season by defeating South China "A", the then potential champions, last week by the only goal, are at present at the top of the table and will have a hard nut to crack in the ever elusive St. Joseph's team.
Middlesex, who share the top position at the moment with Kowloon, will meet Eastern in a

in view of Eastern's topsy-turvey form. South China “A” who are lying second with the same number of games played as Kowloon and Middlesex, will meet with very strong opposition at the hands of their "B" team and as both sides will be at full strength, this match, as far as good football is concerned, should provide the best sport of the day.
LOCAL FORECAST FOR TO-DAY
Lee Kwok-wai is unfortunately. still on the injured list and his
place in the team has been taken RAPIER'S

spoiler and feeder, while Yeung SELECTIONS Shui-vick, the "B" team right-

CLASSIC TO DAY
The first game in the Home In- ternational soccer series will be played to day at Belfast, when Tre land will entertain England.
Partick Thistle just over a sea ago released Prior now of Hibernia with a free transfer. A Thistle ter who was at Easter Road last after watching the right back's exc lent display, remarked, "And yet club are scouring the country for
to fill the defe ive “positions!"
EASTERN
The clash of the two Regimen- tal teams in the Second Division of the local football League, and the encounter between the Police and the Engineers, both so far unbeaten, in the Hong Kong See- tion of the Third Division, are the main attractions in the Jun- ior soccer programme.
Kowloon, who have now one of the strongest Second Division teams for many years, will meet South China and should have no difficulty in obtaining both points. Vale, of the Fusiliers, will be partnering Humphreys, at back, while Abbas will be seen in the intermediate line.
Their forward line is a good one and will be lead by Betts, of Navy, where he will have the assis tance of Hussain, from Shanghai, on his left P. Ulrich will be the left wing.
POSITIONAL CHANGES
од
The Chinese have made several positional changes. Choo will be goal, while Yar Wah-ying will be in the centre-field and Au Ping-ming will lead the attack.
Unless Eastern show an impre ment, they are in for a truncing the Club juniors are fielding their strongest side. The return of Skin- ner, to the senior team, has enabled Millington to play in the interme- diate line, with M. Purvis and Goss as the wing halves. The forward line is unchanged. P. Wilson will be leading the line with P. Stephens on his left and these two should do well
POLICE AND RACES
The game between the Police and Engineers should be worth wat ing and provided duties at the Races do not rob the Police of any players, they should win as they have strong defence which includes Hay- ward, Territ Brittain and Willis. The Chinese in the forward line are very fast and the presence of Wall, at inside left, has a hivening on the attac
