INTERNATIONAL LAWN BOWLS SEMI-FINALS

(Continued from Page 18)

I must not let ray enthusiasm for his fine play befog me to the ex- tent of ignoring the other three men, however. Minu at lead was excellent and had the better of the lay for the greater part of the game! Khan at number two not so good and barely held own against Craig who, incidental- ly, can play a very much better game than he did on this occasion. Of the number threes, I would say that Hyde Lay was the more bril- lant but he was not as consistent a2" A. M. Omar who without being bril- liant was usually somewhere useful

Walker as lead was not up to his. league form and had a tendency be short, with embarrasing results to his skip, McKelvie, who had not. the best of luck with some good shots. Everything was overshadow- ed by U.M's great efforts as he was saving time and again or adding. to the score as the occasion requir- ed.

The Indian team is a strong one and should be able to overcome England in the final on Sunday The latter had no walkover against the Phillipines and had the latter settled down a little earlier in the game, they might well have won. As it was, they found themselves in arrears to the extent of 10 shots or so before they found

their feet and were able to pull up to within four of their conquerors. Syd the Bright was the best man in English team and he had his op posite number beaten practically the way through

Randle did not appear to playing at Number Two Inot perform well, whilst

was patchy Jack Hollidg was consistently steady, and imperturbable when fortune against him. On three Dick Bass saved big means of rather fortunat he was not up to his
