MILITARY
SOCCER
LEAGUE
FIRST FOUR GAMES
FOR TO-DAY
MIDDLESEX MAKE DEBUT
(By "REFEREE
Military soccer will be in full swing as from to-day, when four encounters in the Military League will be held at Chatham Road and at Happy Valley, marking the first appearance of the Middlesex Regi- ment, who have already established a reputation here as a result of well-merited victories last Saturday: against the Club.
The Seaforths have already fallen into their stride and their junior teams last year made their presence felt in both the Second and Third Divisions.
The Small Units have been rather unlucky, having lost several of their men who have been transfer- red to the War Zone in Shanghai, and are not expected to do much.

Mitchell had this remarkable score during a four-ball match in which, partnered by Mr. J. S Pearson, secretary of the Veru- lam Club, he beat T. Pierpoint, the new Highgate professional, and Mr. W. A. Gray, a member of the local club, by 6 and 5.
In the first round Mitchell and Pearson were one down, but in the afternoon Mitchell had his record- breaking round, and his side won easily.
