YACHT RACE

RECORD IS EXPECTED

AMERICAN YACHT DISQUALIFIED

London, August 11.

was reported last night that one of the competitors in the 600-miles ocean yacht race from Cowes to the Fastnet Rock and hack to Plymouth may set up a new record for the race.

The 29 competitors in this year's race, which is held bien- nially, started on Saturday! morning, and were expected to finish in about six days.

The leader, which was reported in the English Channel on the home- ward run, is Mr. M. H Mason's Latifa She was expected to cross the finishing line at Plymouth early to-day, thus completing the course within four days. This would con- stitute a record.
