$40,000 FOR REFUGEE RELIEF

The recently formed "Hong Kong Chinese Refugee Relief Associa tion" announces that it has collect- ed the magnificent sum of over $40,000 in six days.

Mr. Ho Kom Tong O.BE is the leading spirit behind the whole organisation, assisted by Mr. Chau Siu-ng, the indefatigable Chairman of Tang Wah Hospital and Mr. Li of the Chinese Sing-kui, Chairman of General Chamber of Commerce, and a widely representative Committee.

A door-to-door appeal for funds is being undertaken in a very un- robstrusive manner and -- the re- sponse has exceeded all expectations. The crew of 32 reached the Spanish-harbour of Benicarlo inwarded to the Cantonese Guild in lifeboats.
