INDEPENDENT OBSERVER IDENTIFIES MYSTERY OF ALGIERS SHIP BOMBERS
London, To-day.
An observer appointed by the Non-Interven- tion Committee and serving on the Italian steamer Mongiola when it was bombed and who was himself injured, has issed a report to the British Admiralty, according to despatches received here from Algiers.
The observer states that the Germany Distributes
aeroplanes which bombed the ship had previously flown over the ves sel at a height of about 300 metres.
The first bomb fell into the sea on the port side of the ship at a distance of about only two or three metres, while the second bomb damaged the ship's steering appar- atus.
Great Britain is said to have affirmed that the attacking aero planes belonged to the National- ists and that an official report on the incident will be despatched to the Non-Intervention Commit- tee.
