Hendaye, To-day. The insurgents are reported to have resumed the offensive west of Madrid with a vengeance.
Thirty-six bombing planes, working in relays and escorted by 112 fighters, are stated to have continuously attacked the Government positions at Villa Nueva, Delpardillo and Brunete without re- sistance from the Government air force.

REBEL EXTRAVAGANCE
Paris, To-day. Extravagant claims are made by the insurgent press on the occasion of the anniversary of the start of the Spanish civil war.
During the past year, the papers in Salamanca state, the rebels have. destroyed 328 Republican planes in air battles, by anti-aircraft fire or bombardment of enemy aero- dromes.
In addition, twelve aeroplanes were captured and seven deserted across the frontier into France.
There are also 51 cases where it is believed Republican planes were destroyed but no confirmation was obtained.
All the papers publish long articles in praise of individual -re- bel commanders and lauding the troops-Trans-Ocean.
