FRESH TROOPS
10,000 CHINESE TROOPS WOUNDED ARRIVE TO N. CHINA
SAID MOVING NORTH WITHOUT ORDERS
Peiping, 12.25 p.m.
The fighting last night was more extensive than any hitherto experienced in the North China clash, according to Chinese reports, which state that both Chinese and Japanese suffered heavy losses in a four-hour battle which started about 10.30 p.m.
Several villages west of Peiping were severely damaged by artillery and machine-gun fire, which was hottest between 12.10 and 12.20 this morning. Some reports state that the firing commenced again at 5.30 this morning but that it was only very brief, and at present there seems to be another lull. -Reuter.
