HOW LOVELIES STAY LOVELY

YOR generations the inability of

F the Englishwoman to dress has

to

been a world-wide joke and the size of our feet has been made the

• occasion for rude notice in the foreign Press as well as in our own. It has been grudgingly admitted that we have good skins, but the credit for that is usually given our climate, and while French women have been notorious for their chic, and Spanish women for their grace, and Italian women for their flashing white teeth, we have been regarded as rather poor things.

Those days have passed. Of late our dress sense has come on by leaps and bounds and we have dis- carded those unbecoming long-toed shoes in favour of short ones, and so taken the sting out of the foot jokes.

To-day we are a nation of smart women and, since our climate is as bad as ever, our complexions are as good as ever:

Dry skins, on the other hand, are hungry and have to be fed.

Dry-skinned women should use a cream-rouge. I am told that to. But we take our complexions in

face of it.

Throw Off Inertia And every day I meet women- haggard, faded things - of whom their friends say, rather apologeti- cally:

-

“You should have seen her when she was a girl. Her complexion was a dream, like peaches and cream, like peaches and cream-but then, of course, she never had time to use creams and things."

Never had time"-that's what makes me mad.:

I know a number of women who will cheerfully spend from three till six choosing a new dress, but they cannot spend from 10.30 p.m. till 10.33 p.m. smearing a bit of cream on their faces.

They haven't the time.

If you want to keep your lovely skins lovely for all time, ladies, you must throw off your inertia.

Do

things to them-steam them, ice them!

Howls will go up from the anti- steam, anti-ice schools of thought

when they read this.

Mask For Greasy Skins- Now let me give you one or two more effective ones, starting with a cure for greasy skins.

Greasy skins want bustling and I have come across a mask that is ex- cellent for this purpose.
