KEEN ST. IVES' FIGHT
London, To-day.
The Conservative Party re- tained yet another seat in the by- election held yesterday at Kings- ton-on-Thames, where the seat was rendered vacant by the ele- vation of Sir George Penny to the Peerage.
Admiral Percy Royds was the successful candidate, being return- his ed with a 9,915 majority over Labour opponent, Mr. G. H.-Loman, in a straight contest.
The Conservative majority at the General Election, when Sir George Penny was opposed by Labour and Liberal candidates, was 22,939. On that occasion the Labour candidate was also Mr. Loman.
