BILBAO BACK TO NORMAL
REBEL DRIVE ON SANTANDER

A message from Hendaye, on the Franco-Spanish border, says that life has virtually returned to normal in Bilbao.
The insurgents have begun a drive towards Santander, and have already occupied two vil- lages 12 miles west of Bilbao on either side of the Bilbao-Santan- der road.
According to insurgent sources, General Davila, commander - in chief of the rebel troops on this front, has over 65,000 men for the advance on Santander, in addition to 400 guns and 100 tanks and arm- oured cars.

In St. Jean de Luz it is reported that the insurgents have occupied the heights commanding the town of Baracaldo.

Belated news was received in the Colony yesterday of the death of Mr. G. M. Young, for many years prominently identified with Messrs. Butterfield & Swire in Hong Kong, where he Was taipan of the organisation.
