Met At Peebles Tournament
CHILEAN WANTS TO GO HOME FIRST
London, May 29.
It is understood that the engage- ment of Senorita Anita Lizana, the Chilean lawn tennis champion, to Mr. Ronald T. Ellis, of Invergowrie, near Dundee, will shortly be an- nounced. Mr. Ellis, who is 24, is the son of a Dundee-merchant.
Senorita Lizana, who is 22; re- ceived many congratulations yes- terday when playing in the Middle sex championships at Chiswick Park. She explained that she was not yet officially engaged.
"I am longing to go home to Chile, and the fact that I may marry a Scotsman will not inter- fere with my love for my country." She said later: "I think my affec- tion for Scotland is next to my love for my own land.”
E. C. JONES ON INJURED

Young Pro's Bowling
Feats
London, May 28.-E. C. Jones, the Glamorgan spin bowler, pull- ed a muscle in his back when throwing the ball in the M. C. C. match at Lord's and will take no further part in the game. He will be unable to play in Glamorgan's next match, against Warwickshire, at Birmingham.
The young professional's bowl- ing feats this season had aroused great interest in his appearance in the Rest side against the M.C.C. Australian XI. Unfortunately for Jones, he had sent down only nine, overs and taken Verity's wicket when he injured himself.
