Sir Andrew Caldecott Going Via Cape
Sir Andrew Caldecott will arrive in Colombo, it is learned, in the middle of October, travelling via the Cape from England where he is at present spending a holiday.
Sir Edward Stubbs, as previous- ly announced, leaves Ceylon about the end of this month.
According to earlier arrange- ments Sir Andrew Caldecott was to have arrived in Ceylon towards the end of the year but he may cut short his holiday in England so as to take up his new appoint- ment in October.
No official intimation has yet been received of the date of his successor's arrival in Hong Kong.

Gloom has been cast over the holiday resort of Chefoo by the tragic death by drowning of a Briton, E. P. Railton, and his eight-year-old son yesterday.
Mr. Railton met his death when he a picnic dived into the sea froin
