C. B. HOSKING'S BRILLIANT

- BOWLS

(Continued from Page, 19) Stainton was ahead of Nish all the way to run out victor by 11 shots. The H. K., F. C. seconds did the Indians a good turn by having the better of their near neighbours, Craigengower, who lost by the mininum count. The home team had two rinks up, Webster beating Way, (a good achievement) and Selby having the upper hand with Ward, thanks to a final spurt which pro- duced half a dozen shots in the last three heads.

Pearse made a great recovery after tea and from three down came along to win by eight shots against Brooksbank Webster, for whom Duncan shone, scored 17 be- fore Way/s-team troubled the mark- er, but the visitors stuck..gamely to their task and were only three in arrears at the finish.

BRILLIANCE OF DRAKE

The Junior champions had t the advantage over the Police, chiefly through the brilliance of Drake and his men, who had the biggest win of the day in scoring 39 to 6 against Riddell, all of whose team were shots all in singles.

Three fours and a couple of fives gave an indication of the home rink's all round superiority. Logan made, his debut as skip, but had little support except from White his second man, and went down to Moss, erstwhile First Division skip, by 14 shots. In a low-scoring game Shepherd, just back from leave, lost to Meyer by a single scored on the last roll-up! There were two shots in the measure when the skips went down to bowl. The visi- tor, with his second wood, put in another one to be taped whilst his opposite turned one over with his last wood to add to the interest. Four to be measured and it might easily have been two to either side, but the home team were given it by a fraction!

*\\\K.F.C.'S BIG: DEFEAT

In the Third Division the most surprising result was perhaps the big defeat of the Kowloon Football Club by the other Soccerites. It was mainly due to: Morgan's four, who outplayed Bob Lapsley's men to win by 21,!The Kowloon Tong Club put up a great fight against Club de Recreio, Roza Pereira's 17 shots win against the hitherto unbeaten Houghton was nullified by a similar viétory for A. H. Basto with Botelho as his opponent, and it was Rosa- rio's win over Simpson which: pro- vided the deciding factor.

The Yacht Club with a poor team out, came a cropper against the Civil Servants at North Point, only KS. Robertson making anything of a fight to tie with Cook's quar tette. Kirman played a very fine game as lead to Westlake who, over- came Maughan's rink by 18 shots.

The Craigengower third. team, like both, the others, had a very tight game and just got home by three shots against the Electricians who, however, won on two of the rinks, Sloan's debut victory being

very good one.
