EXPLOSION
.
Nine were killed outright and eight critically injured on the Saikung River, near Canton, yester- day morning in a launch explosion disaster, similar in many respects to the Dojima Maru tragedy.

Fortunately, the blast drove upwards and there were no casualties among 200 pilgrims in junks which were being towed by the ill-fated launch.
