Berlin, To-day.

An important speech on both internal and for- eign questions was delivered by Herr Hitler before an audience of 150,000 Nazis at Regensburg yester- day.

The Chancellor said:

"Germany has been asked why she does not

disarm.

"Germany has become distrustful and this time it is up to the other nations to be first.

"In the past, other nations could have had the blessing of disarmament.

"When Germany disarmed they ignored it and only recognised this blessing when Germany re- armed."

Herr Hitler criticised Demo- cracy because of its strikes and

The Fuehrer then stated he would not tolerate religious strife in Germany,

Tokyo, May 31. Official circles to-day declare that the conversations between England and Japan regarding the readjust ment of relations between the two countries have not yet emerged from the preliminary stage and therefore, no definite conclusion has been reached.

The "Chugai Shogyo," leading financial daily, remarks, however, that the object of the negotiations in London apparently is to achieve a gentleman's agreement on large issues rather than a detail treaty on concrete matters. The news paper states that Japanese business interests have recently manifested concern lest the negotiations should eventually be disadvantageous to Japanese commercial interests.

"Concretely," the newspaper says, "the negotiations appear to be pro gressing along the lines that Bri tish and Japanese spheres of in- fluence in the British Dominions
