RINTS will be summer uniform. This year silks and cottons are more than mere materials. The looms have taken history, romance, affairs of the day and woven them into stuffs. Not so many garlands and gentle posies. Aeroplanes, telephones, the radio, sports, signa- tures-these are print news.

A dark redingote and two or three printed frocks will meet any daytime occasion. The redin- gote should be tied and not button-. ed. It can have short, three-quar- ter or long sleeves. None at all if you want to show more of your printed frock, but then it is not so useful. It can be made of corded silk or cotton. White cotton coats over printed silk frocks are news. They can have Valenciennes lace ruffles and look good at weddings.

ODD IDEAS IN DECORATIONS

Photographs Done Directly On Walls

People planning redecorations will find much to interest them in the games room and cocktail bar in Lord Jersey's new house in Farm- street, Berkeley-square,

The walls have been decorated with murals, photographed directly on to the walls, These panels are enlargements of snapshots of Spanish bullfights taken by the owner himself.

The bar itself is made in the form of glass bricks, lit inside. The wood part is Spanish red to match the rest of the woodwork in the room. The top of the bar is cover- ed in red linoleum.

Above on the right is a view of Lord Jersey's drawing-room. Walls are apple green.

The built-in fireplace is made in sycamore veneer and fluted grey stone, and the cabinets on each side of the mantelpiece contain shelves for telephones and an electric radiogram.
