23 WERE KILLED,

19 SERIOUSLY INJURED, AND 64 SLIGHTLY INJURED.

Germany is inflamed by the affair and a meet ing of the Hitler Cabinet has already resulted in certain specific orders to German naval craft in Spanish waters, though the nature of those orders has not been revealed.

It is understood that the Government has com- municated with the non-intervention committee, informing them that what measures the German Government proposes to take.

As reported earlier, the warship was attacked when lying at anchor near the pier at Ibiza, and the Spanish authorities allege that the Deutschland first opened fire on the planes which were proceed ing to an air raid on Palma.
