In the Colony of Hong Kong, in- cluding the Island, Kowloon and the New Territories during the week ending at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, there were altogether 45 traffic accidents, as the result of which 1 person was killed and 23 persons were injured.

Antiques

One of the biggest industries in England must be the manufacture of rare old antiques. There are hun- dreds of men working night and day, making delicate and fragile old trophies that first saw the light of day centuries ago.

The proof of this great fraudul- ent activity is shown in a statement just issued by the United States Treasury. It is announced that the

75 per

imports of non-dutiable antiques since 1911 amount to £128,126,000.

The Treasury states that cent of these imports are fraudul- ent and most of them come from England.

I seem to remember an American phrase which goes "There's a suc- ker born every minute? **
