An Opportunity For New Bid For Peace

Geneva, To-day.

The Locarno Treaty was the main theme of the discussions of the League of Nations Council at its 'meeting yesterday afternoon, when the French Foreign Minister, M. Yvon Delbos, read aloud the already published Franco-British communication to the League regarding release of Belgium from her obligations under the Treaty.

M. Delbos declared that the release changed nothing regarding Franco-Belgian friendship, and that France would continue her efforts to arrange a new Locarno.

France had never forgotten for a moment, he continued, that western European security and general European peace were interdependent.

Western security could not be the United States, Germany, Japan, attained at the price of Euro Brazil, Costa Rica, Danzig, Monaco pean peace.
