First, wash face thoroughly with soap and water, rinse, then cover for a moment or two with a towel which has been dipped in hot water and wrung as dry as possible. When you have finished, touch each irri- tated spot with pure grain alcohol.

If skin is oily (and oiliness usual- ly accompanies blackheads), leave the alcohol on for six or seven minutes, then pat face and throat with skin tonic (astringent if you are past..35) and go to bed. If dry, apply night cream after alco- hol has been on a few minutes, pat vigorously, remove and smooth on a mild tonic.
