ENGLISH WOMEN FOR AUSTRALIA

The matter of professional lawn tennis players visiting Australia from overseas, is gradually coming within the thoughts of the gover ning bodies in Australia. In Sydney the idea has taken solid shape. The authorities in Melbourne are talking about it.

If ever the American profession- als and F. Perry come to Australia, they ought to do under the auspices of the amateur controlling authorities and play on the amateur courts. The game will then reap its benefits from any successful project of the port.

The English women's team is ex- pected to leave the United States for Australia on October 12. They will reach their destination early in summer. By that time the best Australian girls should be in first- rate form and fit to give them the games of their lives.
