DUKE OF BEDFORD & R.A.F. SEARCH £1,000 Gift To Fund The Air Council has announced that the Duke of Bedford has given £1,000 to the Royal Air Force Bene volent Fund.

The gift was made "in token of the services rendered by Royal Air Force units in the search for the aircraft piloted by the late Duchess of Bedford, in which she lost her life."

The Duke of Bedford, it was stat- ed, asked that his very

grateful thanks should be given to all ranks of the Air Force who took part in

the search.

'Planes from 10 Royal Air Force stations were engaged in the search, which lasted eight days and cover- ed six counties.
