Berlin, To-day.
An interview given by the South African Pre- mier, General Hertzog, at Madeira yesterday has aroused strong resentment in German official circles.
GENERAL HERTZOG, WHO IS ON HIS WAY TO LONDON FOR THE CORONATION, TOLD AN INTERVIEWER THAT GER- MAN CO-OPERATION IN THE PROBLEM OF SOUTH-WEST AFRICA WOULD HELP TO SOLVE THE SITUATION.
HE SUGGESTED THE REICH MIGHT ASSENT TO TER- MINATION OF THE MANDATE OVER THE TERRITORY, THUS PERMITTING IT TO BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE UNION.
