All traces of the tomb in which beautiful Mrs. Fitzherbert, mor- ganatic wife of George IV buried in the church of St. John the Baptist, Bristol-road, Brighton, 100 years ago, have vanished.

Sextons removed flooring at the spot where her vault, was believed to be, sounded the walls and monu- ments in vain.

A wreath, composed of daffodile and carnations was delivered at the presbytery to be placed beneath the. monument.
