MR. LANSBURY AND HITLER
FUEHRER GIVES ASSURANCE TO PEACE-MAKER
BERLIN, TO-DAY.
GERMANY IS FULLY READY TO PARTICI- PATE IN A CONFERENCE FOR INTERNA- TIONAL CO-OPERATION.
This is the main point in a statement issued after a lengthy conference yesterday between Herr Hitler and Mr. George Lansbury, the British La-- bour leader, who came to Berlin to have a “peace talk."
The statement, agreed to by both the Fuehrer and Mr. Lansbury, declares:
“GERMANY IS WILLING TO ATTEND A CON- FERENCE AND PARTICIPATE IN A UNITED EFFORT FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF ECONOMIC CO-OPERA- TION AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD, IF PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT OR THE HEAD OF ANOTHER GREAT COUNTRY WILL TAKE THE LEAD IN CALLING SUCH A CONFERENCE.”
