"IRONGUARD” MAKE THREATS:

The banishment of Prince Nicholas by King Carol threatens to bring about a serious clash be- tween the Fascist Iron Guard and the Government.

ALL COMMANDERS OF THE IRON GUARD ATTENDED A SPECIAL COUNCIL YESTERDAY AT WHICH THE LEADER, M. CODREANU, READ PRINCE NICHOLAS'S LETTER TO THE CROWN COUNCIL EXPLAINING WHY HE PREFERRED BAN- ISHMENT TO RENUNCIATION OF HIS MORGANATIC MAR- RIAGE WITH MME. SAVEANU, THE DIVORCED WIFE OF A RUSSIAN DIPLOMAT.

IN AN EMOTIONAL SETTING, M. CODREANU EXCLAIM- ED THAT IF THE PRINCE WAS FORCED TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY THE “I RON GUARD WILL SHOW ITS STRENGTH.”-

A deputation went to Prince Nicholas, who is making preparations to depart but the Prince refused them an audience and counselled the Iron Guard not to choose this moment to cause trouble. Reuter.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Berlin,-To-day. Although information on what is going on behind the scenes in the dispute between King Carol and Prince Nicholas is meagre, the Budapest correspondent of the "Berliner Tagblatt" cables that the dissension between the King and his younger brother had been grow- ing for some time. -

Strong support has been lent to the Prince by the Fascist Iron. Guard, as well as by other Fascist groups.

The Iron Guard, the correspon- dent declares, had hoped with the assistance of Prince Nicholas, to establish a Fascist regime in Rumania.

The Prince was to have left the country yesterday afternoon with his wife and child.

He will proceed from Budapest to Italy, the French Riveira and finally to Paris, where he is expect ed to settle-Trans-Ocean.

"There has been an epidemic of larcenies at matsheds and in most cases the locks were broken,” said Sergeant Paton when he appeared against Yeung Choi, unemployed, who was charged to-day with the theft of different articles from the matsheds of Messrs. P. W. Parkes, H. B. L. Dowbiggin and C. E. L. Grist at Repulse Bay.

Defendant was sentenced to total of 18 weeks' imprisonment by Mr. W. Schofield, while Chan Kwai who pleaded guilty to receiving the articles was sent to prison for three months.
