SEMI-FINAL

PROGRAMMES RE ARRANGED

In the place of the Wong Shiu- wing and Luk Ding-cheong, P. F. Tsoi and Ng Kam-chuen encounter, on the Stand Court at the Honɑ Kong C. C. yesterday afternoon, E. C. Fincher's singles tennis match with Y. C. Lee was brought for- ward a day and resulted in th K.C.C. player entering the Semi- Final by scores of 6-4, 6-3, in an extraordinarily uninteresting en- counter featured by numerous errors made by both players.

Probably the slippery court had

a great deal to do with the unin- INDIVIDUAL

spiring performance. Fast move- ment was quite impossible.

Fincher never appeared happy with his forehand and netted time and again. His backhand, however, was as usual, very sound and his vicious slicing gave the ball a low skidding bound. On the base-line' he was little superior to his oppon- ent, but at the net he was masterly and made nearly all his points with his nicely-placed volleying..

MAMAK HOCKEY Players Too Excited To Play Well

(By "REFEREE") An excited exhibition was witnessed on the U.S.R.C. ground yesterday, when the Radio Sports Club beat the Cen- tral British Association in the first of three matches to decide the Mamak Hockey Tournament Championship, by the only goal of the match, scored in the first half by Awtar Singh.

Just as the ponies were climbing the incline before reaching the Rock, spectators were shocked to see Mr. S. Y. Liang thrown fromi. Tabby Cat. He was unable to get up and after first aid had been rendered he was taken to hospital. Tabby Cat was conceded more than an outside chance of winning this event, and, if taken out again at a later meeting, it will bear watch-
