belongs, however, to the lady with a round, oval or broad face, not to the long or rectangular type.

Ornaments that adorn the hair have made individuality more than a whim, and practically a hair- dressing ritual. What is more, these shining baubles have taken on the spirit of "swing." One new Hollywood coiffure features large, flat pin curls with a tiny ornametal flower in the centre of each one.

Sophisticated, French accent, is that sleek coif- fure that is combed straight back from the face, with the ends in a smooth roll through the centre of which runs a narrow, velvet band that goes completely around the head. It demands that the wearer have a lovely profile and seems to belong to satin and vel- vet.

These little touches of velvet and glitter do a lot toward putting a coiffure in the spirit of the oc- casion. But like the arrange- ment of the waves and curls they must be tastefully chosen to suit. the purpose.

Hair must always be well- groomed, of course, or it will not be lovely either in the sun or by the candlelight. Cleanliness is the first step, brushing is the next. Permanents are often in- clined to be too eurly, so that each hair stands out by itself. But don't get over-zealous and soak your hair in oil, if this is the case. You actually lose your waves when you do this. But you can, when your hair is dressed, spray it with brillox, not too hea- vily, and it will destroy and frizzy look.

Brillox is particularly impor- tant in the evening to every coif- fure. It gives the hair a lovely

sheen which creates highlights
