PAIRS CLASH
P. H. WONG AND C. E. CHNG FAVOURED
THIS evening at Club de Recreio, the one out-
standing badminton championship will be decided when M. A. Oliveira and J. J. Remedios, of the Recreio, encounter Patrick Wong and C. E. Chng, of the Chinese "Y" in the Men's Doubles event.
Wong already has to his credit, the Colony singles title, which he won in brilliant fashion from T. C. Lee last Friday. His display on that occasion, ranked him as the finest exponent of the game in Hong Kong, and completely in a class by himself. superiority over the remaining competitors which is likely to give the Chinese "Y" combination victory this evening.

As a result, they will now annual encounter, which will com- contest the final and I shall be very mence on the Club ground at 5.15 much surprised if they do not win. Incidently, Wong and Chng were the first pair in the League to take a set from Oliveira and Remedios, and as they have had the benefit of considerable League and tourna ment play since that date, they will have the moral advantage over their opponents of having defeated them before.

The Volunteers will be without several of their best men as neither Bonnar nor Walkden are available, and as a result; several changes

Suggested amendments existing Interport Football rules were presented at the Council meet- ing of the Hong Kong Football As- sociation last evening for approval before submission to Shanghai, Mr. C. M. Manners presided at the meeting and before proceeding with the business welcomed Mr. Lam Ming-fan to the Council as repre- sentative for Eastern, and Chief Writer A. C. Greig, who was form- erly on the Council of the Devon Association, as Assistant Hon.. Secretary, of the local Association.
The Chairman read a letter from Dr. Sik-to Wong, who was un- avoidably absent. The writer in- timated that a communication from the Islington Corinthians indicated a possibility that they would not have time to complete their China tour. The Chairman said that until they heard something definite about the visit the Council would leave the matter in abeyance.
Coming to the Interport rules it was suggested that the contest be between Hong Kong and Shanghai, instead of any ports in the Far East-
