HIS NEXT FIGHT AT

WEMBLEY

CHALLENGE ISSUED BY

PHILLIPS

(By HAROLD LEWIS)

London, February 17. BOXING promoters would now be tumbling over each other in their haste to sign up Jack Doyle, the Irish heavyweight, against any opponent his advisers cared to name, but for the fact that he is under contract to box at Wembley. Probably he will be seen in the Empire Arena, Wembley, to- wards the end of March. He may be permitted to box in the meantime at another National Sporting Club show.

The rush to see Doyle at Earl's Court on Monday night, when he defeated Harry Staal, of Holland, in the sixth round, was amaz ing. His popularity is such that if his future, even among British heavy-weights only, is successful he will command bigger money than any British boxer has ever earned.

Jack Doxie, abaye, is one of the most popular of the British Heavy- weight boxers and after his victory over Harry Staal, of Holland, is conceded a chance of meeting some of the top-notchers.
