The balance sheet of the Notting hamshire C.C.C. shows an excess of expenditure over income of £2,568, due mainly to greatly reduced an- nual subscriptions-£5,404 from 3.217 members, the smallest since 1925.

London, February 23, Sidney Wood, the American lawn tennis player who won the Wim- bledon championship in 1931, will make another bid for the title this year
According to an announcement to-day, he has, after a lapse of several years, entered again for the tournament. Wood also hopes to make the American Davis Cup team.
