Over 250 striking miners are facing a slow and terrible death as a result of their stubborn refusal to evacuate the underground workings which they have turned into a miniature fortress.

The French Ambassador in London, M. Charles Corbin, has been instructed to press for re- call of the volunteers already in Spain.
This was announced in the Chamber of Deputies yesterday by M. Yvon Delbos, the Foreign Minister-Reuter.
