"A new pacifism, born from first-hand experi- ence of the frightfulness of war, will be the most important factor in the battle for peace," declared the Commander-in-Chief of the German Army, Field-Marshal von Blomberg, yesterday.
Marshal Blomberg was speak-Į ing during a reception given to the delegates to the permanentj international war veterans com- mittee.
The reason why most efforts to remove the consequences of the Great War and prevent a recurrence of such a calamity have failed, was that the international comrade- ship of war veterans had not exist- ed until recently, and could not therefore effectively support those efforts.
