From March 10, 1955, when the present company started operations, to December 31, 1935, Studebaker lost $1,975.622.

Present indications are that the company will gain from the year- end adjustments, possibly enough to |bring its year's net close to $2,000,- 000. The year's production is like- |ly to hit 91,000 units.

Despite more cash in inventories and rising receivables, Studebaker will finish the year with about |$2,000,000 more cash and

$4,000,000 more working capital b.than a year ago.

COCOA PLANTING

Milan, To-day.

The growing of cocoa is the lat est Italian proposal for the econo- mic development of Ethiopia.

The proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Colonies by a syndicate of chocolate manufac- turers, who say that the Lake Kalla region and part of the plateau slop ling down to the Sudan are climati cally suited for cultivation of cocoa

The syndicate draws aftention to the successful cultivation of cocos by the British on the Gold Coast and stresses the importance of the Italian chocolate industry becoming independent of foreign raw ma- terials as soon as possible.T Ocean.
