Another British newspaper plane has crashed
with fatal results to its occupants.
This time it was a plane chartered by the "Daily Ex- press," which, after having been missing for 48 hours,
found yesterday in Kirkcudbrightshire.
The aeroplane had caught on
fire and had burned out, the four TERGELEKTRÁRTHIEREZLIKINTI occupants suffering .2 terrible death.
The victims were the pilot and three members of the re- porting staff of the "Daily Express," including Mr. Harold Pemberton, son of Max Pemberton, the novelist.
For two days organised searches had been continuing, nineteen aeroplanes co-operating with search parties on the moorlands.

Three billion francs have been withdrawn from the gold reserve of the Bank of France, according to a statement issued by the Bank yes- terday.
This has been effected, says a communique from the Ministry of Finance, by the stabilisation fund, which is empowered to buy and sell the Bank's gold.
With this withdrawal the fund is simply taking the balance of seven billion francs deposited last Octo-
ber.

Coming after the loan from Lon- don bankers, this measure will strengthen the means, at the fund's disposal and will make its action on the market more effective.ama
The balance sheet of the Bank of France also shows that the State borrowed a further 400,000,000 francs.
