COUNTRY CLUB GOLF CLUB
SPORTING NINE-HOLE COURSE
One Of Most Picturesque Spots In Territories
THE CHAMPIONS ROLL
(By “ Adrem")
OLF IS A GAME THAT IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY POPULAR IN ALL COMMUNITIES. THE VARIOUS COURSES UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE ROYAL HONG KONG GOLF CLUB ARE WELL-KNOWN TO MOST MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC, GOLFERS, OR OTHERWISE, SHEK-0 AND KOWLOON ARE ALMOST EQUALLY WELL-KNOWN, BUT, EXCEPT TO A FEW ENTHUSIASTS, THE COUNTRY CLUB. AT SHEUNGSHUI, DOES NOT CONVEY MUCH TO THE MAN IN THE STREET.
This nine-hole course is one of the most picturesque spots in! the New Territories, and, although comparatively small, is exceed- ingly sporty. The membership is very cosomopolitan and altogether a very fine spirit prevails,
Owing to the large numbers 1936-A Urquhart. of nationalities represented on 1937-S. Sadick.

The course measures 2,500 yards: somewhat and, although it falls short of regulation length, it would be misleading to infer from yard- that it is easy. The wind, which is continually changing, (Continued from Page 18) more than makes up for the lack of distance.

Par for the course is 35 and it takes a very good golfer to negoti- ate it at this mark.
NEW EXTENSIONS
I have it on good authority that the Committee is seriously consider- ing the extension of the Clubhouse and that if the present schemes materialise members will have at their disposal every comfort and modern convenience.
Mr. Li Lan-sang has three ponies entered in-Magnificent View, Mea- dow View and Scenic View, the best of which is the first named.

CURIOUS FOOTBALL SITUATION
AFFILIATION PROBLEM
(By "ROVER")
Owing to the late affiliation of the Kowloon Chinese and the Eastern Athletic Association, an unfortunate situation occurred in the selection of the teams to meet Fastern China in the Chinese Interport match, and the Shanghai Interport team, respectively.
The Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation selected their teams against the East China team a week ago, when the only two bod- lies affiliated to the Federation were
