BROADBRIDGE PROMINENT

(By "ADREM">

After a lapse of two sea- sons, the St. Andrew's men's hockey team is to be revived.

This combination first came into i prominence when the Mamak Hoe-f key tournament was started aboutį six years ago, when an eleven was entered for the first open competi- tive hockey ever

organised in Hong Kong, primarily to allow the! very enthusiastic team then fune- tioning to obtain some regular! games. At that time, no ground was available for practise or for matches and, prior to entry in the Mamak competition, about one game a month was arranged with other clubs possessing grounds.

the majority Although

of the players were comparative new- comers to hockey, they were most) of them prominent exponents of} nearly all ball games and showed such an aptitude for the game that) in a very short while they were giving such outstanding displays) against other experienced sides that they very rapidly name for themselves.
