SEAFORTHS' LOCAL SOCCER DEBUT

SAINTS FORCED TO MAKE MANY CHANGES

RIFLES AND SOUTH CHINA “A” SHOULD BOTH WIN

(By "ROVER")

TO-DAY is a "red-letter" day in the local Football League as Highlanders will make their debut appearance in the First Division when they encounter St. Joseph's at Sookuspoo, and the newcomers will be severely tested in their first encounter.

The only newcomer to the Seaforths' probable team is Nutiney, on the left-wing, otherwise the side which played in Egypt, prior to the Regiment's departure for Palestine, where for seven months they had no football on a competitive basis, will be seen in action.

The Seaforths are fairly strong all round and in Webster. William.. their right-back. they have an outstanding defender. son, their left-half, is also reputed to be a very capable player. while Webster, on the other flank, and McCusker, the pivot, are also very steady. The strength of the team lies in the inter- mediate line.

In the First Division, the Navy and Indian RC. will try conclusions at King's Park. The former, despite the departure of several of their best players during the week, have mustered
