Greatest secrecy is being observed in British police investigations into the fiendish murder of Miss Pamela Werner, whose terrible end has shocked foreign communities of all nationalities throughout China.
It is, however, learned that an important ar- rest was made last night..
This is the first arrest in the case. It was made by Captain Botham, who only recently joined the British Police in Tientsin and who was sent to Pei- ping to conduct the inquiry on behalf of the British authorities.
No details have been released concerning the man taken into custody.
