A COACHING COLLEGE FOR TENNIS PLAYERS SURREY SECRETARY'S PROPOSED · SCHEME
·FOR COVERED COURTS CLUB
(By H. R. McDonald)
London, November 26. THE new lawn tennis coaching college which Mr. W. E. S. Dailley, the hon. secretary of the Surrey LTA, is anxious to see established in this country, would mean a big outlay by the Lawn Tennis Association, who, however, have a reserve of over £60,000.
"My idea, Mr. Dailey told me to-day, "is that the ETIA. should build a covere, courts club, engage a staff of professional coaches, and invite the counties to submit the names of promis- ing players, who would be given a course of instruction in the best conditions.
"If necessary, a subsistence allowance would be made to

The surprise e selection is Sievers, 22-year-old Victorian all- rounder, who has never played in a Test. F. Ward has been pre- ferred to Grimmett, and there is not a left-hand bowler in the side. Five of the men have not previously played against England.
The selectors have done an excellent job. The final choice A. Anderson, N. K. Little depends on a medical examination of Melabe, McCormick, and Robinson, who have right injuries.
