In the course of a bombardment of the city yesterday, three shells hit the tall telegraph building, tearing a hole in the walls. Other shells fell in the streets in the vicinity and a thrilling air battle was fought out over the River Manzanares, in full view of the crowds in the streets below. Two insurgent planes were brought down and one Government plane, which was damaged, made a forced landing on the Barajas aerodrome-Reuter.
London: The First Secretary of the Belgian Embassy at Madrid, Baron de Borelgreve, has disappeared in mysterious cir- cumstances according to reports which have been received here.
On Sunday he left the Embassy in order to inspect the dis- trict of Tetuan, which had been badly damaged by bombs, and has not been heard of since. — Trans-Ocean Service.
