When a circus visited Graves- end recently Dr. J. L. Hagard, a councillor, was given a complimen- tary seat behind those allotted to the council

This, it seems, annoyed him, and his annoyance was mentioned jat a meeting of the council:

A letter was received from the! circus management saying that Dr. Hagard was "extremely noyed" that council officials should be seated in the 7s. 6d. seats, whereas he, a councillor, was sext- led in a-56. eest.
