A PROBLEM FOR THE KEEPERS Mouse Among The Cobras

ONE DAY HE WILL TURN INTO DINNER

A mouse is causing a stir in the Reptile House at the Zoo. Ke has taken up residence in a cage occupied by a collection of cobras and runs in and out among them with an air of complete assurance. He shows so little respect for his dangerous hosts that he walks over their bodies, and at times even sits on the head of a cobra jand dresses his fur.

Originally there were two mice! playing at this game. They sp parently found their way into the cage through the ventilation holes, jand once haying got there they |made themselves at home:

But as mice are tasty meals for {cobras, and these particular cobras are feeding greedily on dead mice every week, the keepers were wor- ried by the presence of these, two live mice, for it seemed inevitable that sooner or later visitors would have the unpleasant experience of {seeing them come to a sudden and

nasty end!

2 Accordingly they tried to catch the mice, and when they failed to do this they decided the most hu- mane thing was to kill them. But they only succeeded in killing one of the mice. The other has per-
