Valley last Saturday, but the attendance could only be described as moderate. Spectators were, however, trested to an afternoon of exceptionally keen racing, a few of the events providing very thrilling finishes. Rendered hard by the dry weather, the track was in splendid condition, thus materially assisting in some fast times being recorded.
Once again, honours among the Owners were extremely well divided, not one enjoying the satisfaction of recording more than one win...The meeting was, however, marked by brilliant riding on the part of Mr. S. C. Liang, the noted Tientsin jockey, who had the unique distinction of winning the two events confined to Australian ponies. He also rode a splendid race on Pride of Tsingtao in the last race. With three wins to his credit, Mr. Liang naturally headed the list of most successful jockeys, fol- lowed by Mr. D. Black, whose victory on Emergency Call was a treat to watch:
